Extra fat in the neck, back, hips and chest can often seem impossible to get rid of, even for those who follow a good diet and exercise regularly. Liposuction is an invaluable tool for toning areas where fat is harder to fight with weight loss and exercise.

About the Procedure

Dr. Lefkowitz will help you create a treatment plan customized for your desired outcome and the most natural-looking results. He performs liposuction with the latest technology to help you remove unwanted fat and tone your physique.

During liposuction, small tubes remove excess fat through tiny incisions. An anesthetic solution on the treatment areas helps keep bleeding to a minimum and makes the procedure pain free.

Liposuction is usually an outpatient procedure that lasts one to four hours, and you can have multiple areas treated at once. Larger liposuction procedures occasionally require an overnight stay in a hospital setting for monitoring.

Complementary Procedures

Liposuction is commonly performed in conjunction with faceliftsneck lifts, and other procedures. Dr. Lefkowitz will thoroughly discuss your options for combining services.

You may choose to return to work or school three to five days after liposuction, depending on your particular surgery. By day seven of recovery, you should go back to light aerobic exercise and increase your activity level over the following three weeks.

Some swelling and bruising after liposuction is normal and expected. Much of this will lessen over the two weeks after your surgery. You’ll wear a compressive garment after liposuction to help with comfort and contour. You can expect to see full aesthetic results within three to six months.

Dr. Lefkowitz will continue to help you throughout the recovery process and answer any questions about diet and exercise. This kind of continuing care is essential to a successful liposuction surgery.
