About the Treatment

After a thorough consultation with Dr. Lefkowitz, he will determine if facial fillers are right for you. One of the earliest and most pronounced areas to show the effects of aging is the area between the cheek and mouth. The appearance of the lower lip and jowl area can also benefit from facial fillers. In addition, using tiny amounts of filler along the lip margin can help you regain youthful appearing lips by accentuating pouting and decreasing the “thinning” that appears over time.

Dr. Lefkowitz will inject a small amount in the areas that will benefit most, giving you a softer, more youthful and contoured aesthetic. Placement of these products is thru a tiny needle into the dermis (or just below). A variety of methods are employed to minimize discomfort during the procedure. The procedure usually takes about 15-20 minutes with little or no downtime and can be done at the patient’s convenience—even during a lunch break.

Dr. Lefkowitz does not believe in using facial fillers in the wrinkle area between the brows. He believes the risk of complication is too high. Although quite acceptable for Botox Cosmetic, this area, due to its vascular (vessel) anatomy poses a complication risk not acceptable for injectable fillers. Dr. Lefkowitz will work closely with you to determine the best treatment plan to meet your needs.

Your Results

You can expect the aesthetic results of facial fillers to last between six and nine months.

We offer the following fillers at Lexington Plastic Surgery:

Juvederm Ultra Plus XC
Juvederm Ultra XC
Juvederm Voluma XC
Juvederm Volbella XC

Minimal bruising and swelling is common but usually dissipates in less than 24 hours. To minimize this undesirable occurrence, patients should not be on herbal supplements, vitamin E, non-steroidals or Aspirin for at least 10 days prior to treatment with facial fillers.

Dr. Lefkowitz believes continuing care is essential to achieving the best results. He is always available to answer any questions you may have about any treatment you receive.
