Botox® Cosmetic

Over time, facial muscles create wrinkles and lines. The more these muscles contract, the more ingrained the lines can become. Botox® cosmetic safely and effectively interrupts the nerve impulses to the muscles causing these unwanted wrinkles. By injecting small doses in just the right places, Botox® cosmetic can dramatically reduce the appearance of lines on the forehead, in between the eyes, and crow’s feet. Overall you will have a more relaxed, refreshed, rejuvenated appearance. Botox® cosmetic is also effective in treating hyperhidrosis (excessive perspiration.)

About the Procedure

Dr. Lefkowitz advocates a conservative Botox® treatment approach, with the goal of smoothing or reducing lines while maintaining your natural appearance. Small amounts of Botox® are injected into areas where you need it most. Tiny needles are used to inject Botox® into the muscles of the face, leaving you looking refreshed and rejuvenated, not frozen. Usually, the lines associated with a scowl or with fatigue, such as the vertical furrows between the brows are treated more liberally.

Your Results

Most clients notice the effects of Botox® within 72 hours after the procedure, but it may take up to 10 days to see maximum results. Dr. Lefkowitz strives to ensure your Botox® results compliment your natural beauty and takes into account such factors as facial asymmetry, lifestyle, and your aesthetic goals.

Complementary Procedures

Because Botox® is a noninvasive procedure with little downtime, other beauty treatments may be combined to give you an overall refreshed appearance. Common complementary treatments may include injectable fillers such Restylane, Juvederm, or Perlane. You can also add Botox® cosmetic to the Mommy Makeover package.

Recovery

Botox® treatments often take less than 15 minutes to perform. You can even schedule your appointment during the lunch hour and return to work immediately.

The results of facial injections generally last between three and four months. Injections used to treat excessive perspiration may last up to six months.
